Audubon's Quadrupeds- The Watercolors

The American Museum of Natural History Edition

 PRICE LIST                  IMAGE GALLERY

John James Audubon's last major accomplishment was the creation of 150 watercolors and oil paintings of North American animals. Having depicted all the known birds of North America, but still lured by his love of nature and art, he embarked on a final drawing expedition up the Missouri River in the summer of 1843. With the participation of his son, John Woodhouse Audubon, he created the first attempt ever to document and depict all the mammals of North America.

This unique edition offers, for the first time, limited edition fine art prints of Audubon's original paintings for the Quadrupeds. Fourteen subjects from the collection are in this printing as well as a Portrait of John James Audubon painted by his son, John Woodhouse Audubon. John Woodhouse also authored one of the original paintings in this collection, the Prairie Wolf.

Pre-publication pricing: Price Range, $600 to $1,500
