The Conservation and Restoration Facility

Our state of the art conservation laboratory and art preparation area occupies 8400 square feet four blocks from the gallery on Michigan Avenue. Twelve full time conservators, apprentices and preparators are continually at work treating paintings on canvas, works of art, documents and objects on paper as well as all kinds of photographic mediums. Pictured at right is one "dry" area where treatments not requiring water or chemicals are conducted.
