About George Edwards
George Edwards (1694 – 1773) was a British artist and naturalist who enjoyed the patronage of Sir Hans Sloane and the friendship of artist Mark Catesby. One of his most notable works is A Natural History of Uncommon Birds, 1743, which records a number of birds that had not been previously illustrated.
