About Native Plants of the Woods and Prairie – Oppenheimer Editions
In the spirit of natural history artists of the past, contemporary botanical artist Heeyoung Kim documents and depicts rare and native plants from endangered ecosystems. Her exquisite, deftly painted compositions portray native woodland and prairie plants. Giving priority to rare, endangered species, she also paints common species when they have high ecological value. Drawing her specimens in situ with precise measurements, Heeyoung Kim works in watercolor, ink, or graphite pencil, depending upon the characteristics of each plant. After her first solo exhibition in 2011, she quickly gained a reputation as a wildflower botanical artist, winning several prestigious awards. Her work has been exhibited at The American Society of Botanical Artists/Horticultural Society of New York, Chicago, and The Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew.

About Heeyoung Kim
Heeyoung Kim is a contemporary botanical artist, instructor, and native plant advocate who depicts and documents the native plants of the Midwestern woods and prairies. Focusing on rare and endangered plant species, Kim’s highly detailed, superb renderings capture the development of the plants through the seasons. Melding scientific accuracy, ecological activism, and an astute artistic acumen, Kim’s botanical artworks are beautiful and instructive.

Return Policy
We accept returns of artwork purchased on our website within 30 days of the purchase date. Artwork returned in the same condition it was sent in is eligible for a complete refund. If it has been longer than 30 days and you wish to make an exchange, please contact a sales representative at [email protected] to make arrangements.

Condition
Every piece of artwork shipped from Joel Oppenheimer Gallery will be sent in good to excellent condition unless otherwise stated. Due to the depth of our inventory, some artwork may need to be conserved before it is shipped to you. This service is included with the purchase of every piece of antique artwork at Joel Oppenheimer, Inc. Original Audubon Octavos 1st Edition will be shipped in an archival rag board mat. Audubon 2nd edition Octavos are shipped as is.
Delivery
Unframed artwork is typically shipped within 2 - 10 business days of purchase. If an antique piece requires conservation before it is shipped, this typically adds 5 - 10 business days to the delivery time. Framed artwork purchased online typically ship within 10 - 15 business days of the purchase date. You will be contacted in 2 - 3 business days with an estimated ship date.
